After killing a patron at the club she works at, Ellie decides to flee Austin to return a CD to her father in the panhandle of Texas. Told with two intertwining narratives of diaspora: one with Ellie being disowned and removed from seminary school, beginning her life in Austin, and the other of her driving back to where she began: now a woman, with her heavily pierced trans-masc friend who wants to make sure she doesn’t disappear before her trial. The Diary of My Perversion pieces together the shattered remnants of a life destroyed as Ellie hurdles towards her own self-destruction in a futile attempt to reconcile her past before her present is cut short.
